Roof racks are designed and usually installed on SUVs or full sedans. But what if you own a two-door compact car or a small hatchback? The SportRack Short Roof Adapter allows SportRack Roof Rack Systems to be installed on small vehicles with short or dramatically curved rooflines. Without this adapter, standard roof racks will overshoot the roof of small vehicles and won't attach securely. It's made from high tensile tubing that's strong enough hold up to 130 lbs or 59 kg of cargo. Aside from allowing racks for short roofs, the adapter also lengthens bar spread to accept more roof rack carriers and increases the spacing between roof rack cross-bars. The entire bar is painted with a powder-coated finish and is easy to install without drilling or modification.
Features:
- Made from high-strength materials
- Guaranteed SportRack craftsmanship
- Allows SportRack roof rack systems to be used on vehicles with short or dramatically curved rooflines
- Lengthens bar spread to accept more roof rack carriers
- easily slides onto roof rack crossbars
SportRack is a company that designs and manufactures racks, crossbars, and carrier systems for cars, SUVs, trucks, and even carriers. SportRack is a brand that enables people with active lifestyles to carry their cargo, recreational equipment, and outdoor gear on their vehicles. They specialize in building easy to install and easy to take off systems that do not permanently modify a vehicle in any way.
The company is located in Granby, Quebec, Canada, and started operating in 1980 by manufacturing ski racks for snow sports enthusiasts. Their success in this field encouraged the company to diversify its products by creating carriers for bicycles, kayaks, canoes, snowboards, and other cargo. Most of SportRack's products are innovative storage solutions that utilize a vehicle's roof or hitch receiver.
In 2006, SportRack was acquired by Thule, a large cargo and recreational equipment carrier company. Even with the merger, SportRack still continued producing products that focus on the company's special outdoor market niche. Today, SportRack's range of products includes roof rack systems, and roof-mounted cargo boxes, bike, watercraft, and snowsport carriers, hitch and trunk/hatch mount bike carriers, and accessories. All of their products follow SportRack's template of building easy to mount, easy to load cargo and recreational systems.
