A Short History of Reese Products

The history of Reese Products go way back to the late 1940s, when Robert Reese and his father, Terrel J, decided to create the company. According to the records, it was TJ's wife, Margaret Reese, who challenged him to 'create something' new that would stop travel trailers from rocking back and forth when a passenger walked through them. TJ very much liked Margaret's idea because several years later the 'creation' came into being: the first pair of stabilizing sticks, which revolutionized the RV industry and made Reese Products a name to be reckoned with.

Ever since its foundation in 1952, Reese has been producing a large array of hitch products, including its famous line of fifth wheel hitches (15K up to a 30K), gooseneck hitches, and hitch ball mounts.
