The next step would be to download and install the DSDownloader program which would allow the proper transfer of data from your computer to you tuner. The tuner should already be paired or “married” with the appropriate vehicle before the custom tune is to be uploaded. Users can check this through the “Show Last Tune Written” command in the options menu. If the screen indicates anything but “original backup” then the tool is properly married to your vehicle. Power up your Diablosport Tuner by connecting it to your computer. Open the DS Downloader program and wait a few moments for it to detect your tuner. A pop-up window would inform you that the proper connection was made while a “The tool is now under remote control” message will be shown at the screen of your tuner.

It is ideal to create a backup of the original stock tune. This is done via the DS Downloader’s “Express Tune Mode Tab” where users simply select “Get Tune File From Tool” before clicking on “Original Backup from Tool”. The download should commence and once that’s done, simply select a location on your hard drive to place the file. Make certain that the custom tune is downloaded to your computer and select “Send Tune File to Tool from DS Downloader. A pop-up will emerge, asking you to select the custom tune as well as a matching original backup. Once DS Downloader finishes the upload, users can now install it to their vehicle ^[1].

The tuner will prompt the user to turn on the ignition key without starting the engine. The screen will then display all the available tunes that you may load to your vehicle. Generally, there should be three levels of tunes to select from. These are Street, Performance and Race. While the specific tune is being loaded, the tuner will ask the car to be turned ON and OFF multiple times. The whole process should take just about 3 to 5 minutes ^[3].

Update Your Diablosport Tuner

Updating your programmer is essential to ensure you are maximizing its benefits. The simple process of bringing your Diablosport Intune up to date is similar to copying files to a USB drive. The update files are accessed at Diablosport’s online forum (link: https://forum.diablosport.com//viewtopic.php?f=46&t=35186). This page contains all the firmware upgrades and vehicle specific databases.

Download all the files for the inTune into an easy to locate folder in your computer. Connect your inTune to your computer and once it’s booted up, you can drag and drop the previously downloaded update files to the inTune drive. The time the procedure completes would depend on the last time your tuner was updated. When finished, the tuner’s screen will revert back to the main menu [4]. Additionally, users may also set their inTune to automatically update itself once it is connected to the computer.

Unmarrying/Unlocking Your Diablosport Tuner

Another important topic of discussion is how to properly unmarry a Diablosport Tuner. Unmarrying is a necessary procedure if you’re planning to tune a vehicle with a Diablosport Programmer that’s already paired with another vehicle. There are two means of efficiently executing this task. The first is to reset the vehicle to factory settings, a topic that we’re going to discuss in detail with the Diablosport inTune and Predator. The second option would be to call Diablosport’s hotline where one of their experts will walk you through the unlocking steps for a set fee. Do take note that while majority may opt for the first option, users often make a number of mistakes during execution. An example would be individuals installing the stock with options tune rather than the original backup. This will not unlock the programmer, even if the vehicle will be at factory settings ^[5].

So, how do you effectively reset your vehicle with the Diablosport Intune? The first step is selecting “Tune Vehicle” at the main menu before selecting “Restore Vehicle”. A disclaimer should appear, verifying if you intend to restore the original backup to vehicle and release the vehicle license. Once confirmed, the programmer will ask you to turn the ignition key on without starting your vehicle. The tool shall then begin to write the stock tune.

This amount of time this step takes would depend on your vehicle model. Once it’s finished, some key cycling would be performed as you’ll be asked to turn the ignition off and then on again. A pop-up should appear informing you that the original backup has been restored [3]. For a fee, users may otherwise call Diablosport to guide them through a special procedure to fully unlock the Diablosport Intune ^[5].

Like the Diablosport inTune, if you plan on utilizing the Predator to a different vehicle, you’re going to need to restore the original vehicle to its factory settings. Resetting with a Diablosport Predator is similarly, a straightforward process. Simply, turn on your tuner and open the options menu. Once there, select “Troubleshooting” and then “Restore original backup”^[6].

Alternatively, Diablosport will unlock them over the phone for a fee. They’ll guide you to a secret menu which would display a keycode. With the keycode, they’ll then grant a key sequence password to enter in the Predator to reveal an “expert menu”. You would then select the “Expert Registry Reset” option and after a short amount of time, your Diablosport Predator should be properly unlocked ^[5].
