In 2008, the South Korean automaker Kia replaced its Cerato model with a new line of compact cars, named "Forte". Kia launched the Forte in three versions: two-door coupé, four-door sedan, and five-door hatchback. Kia Forte features a front-engine, front-wheel drive layout and was manufactured in two generations.
The first generation began in 2009 model year, though Kia Forte has appeared on both Canadian and American markets in 2010. The Forte is based on the same platform as the Hyundai Elantra. Kia Forte came with 104.3 inches wheelbase and a torsion-beam rear suspension. This magnificent vehicle features a stylish, sharper auto design. In 2009, a hybrid version was released as well.
Kia launched the second generation in 2013 as a 2014 model. It features an entirely new design with a lower, wider, and longer stance. The new Forte comes with new LED headlights and tail lights. The wheelbase is increased to 106.3 inches. The fuel efficiency is improved as well, thanks to the provided new engine options. There are also two types of transmissions available – 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.
