The Powerstroke Retrofit Turbocharger is a good replacement for those people who own worn-out and problematic turbochargers. The Retrofit Turbocharger consists of a turbine housing unit and a compressor housing unit. The compressor housing unit is made up of aluminum while the turbine housing material is made up of cast iron. These Retrofit turbochargers utilize up-to-date mechanics to give an added airflow of 66lbs or 81lb per minute, depending on whether you select the Stage 1 or Stage 2 variant.
When it comes to talking about the components found in the turbocharger, you have the 61mm/64mm compressor plate (single-sided or billet) and mixed flow turbine wheel that comes with a 62mm/65mm exducer. The exducer is that diameter of the plate through which the exit of air takes place. The compressor plate is an essential component. When this plate spins, the air is elicited inside where it takes part in the whole process of the turbocharger. The turbocharger is balanced using the VSR high-speed machine.
One of the best things about the Retrofit turbocharger is that once you purchase the whole set or kit, you don't have to go through the hassle of purchasing anything else or any additional parts. You can simply take out the previous piece you have in your car and simply pop this one down in place.
