Bestop founder Tom Bradley started his company as a small upholstery shop in Boulder, Colorado in 1954. To outdoor enthusiasts, the Boulder area is synonymous with off-road adventures because of its. jagged Flatirons, snake-like canyons, rugged terrain, and thick forests.

Bestop developed custom upholstery and roofing solutions that catered to off-roaders and they became known for creating quality soft tops for Jeeps, pickup trucks, and flatbeds. Today, Bestop is the leading producer and manufacturer of premium soft tops for Jeep Wranglers, Jeep CJs, and various flatbed truck models. Bestop has a long and colorful partnership with Jeep and since 1986 they have been the official supplier of factory soft tops for Jeep Wranglers. Since starting with 7 employees, Bestop has now grown to an international company with more than 500 employees.

The Bestop headquarters is still based in Colorado where they continually developed new product innovations like the Ultratop and the Sunrider. To enforce their strict quality control, all Bestop products are designed, developed, and manufactured in North America.
